27-year old lefty starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez finished in 3rd place in the N.L. Cy Young Award voting and he also was tied for 20th in the MVP voting with Alfonso Soriano, Kris Medlen and Martin Prado. Gonzalez pitched in 32 games (all starts) for the Nationals last year and he was 21-8 with a 2.89 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. Gonzalez had the most wins in the majors last year. He gave up 149 hits and walked 76 batters while whiffing 107 batters in 199 1/3 very impressive innings in 2012. Gonzalez is a good bet to win a Cy Young in the near future as he has downright nasty stuff.
