Washington Wizards 101, Cleveland Cavaliers 99

The Wizards won last night despite being outrebounded 51-36 by the Cavs. Caron Butler led the Wizards last night with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Antwan Jamison also had a solid game with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Darius Songaila was solid off the bench with 15 points in only 18 minutes. The Wizards are now 32-32 on the season.

The Wizards will be without Caron Butler for a while with a labral tear in his left hip. Butler has played in 43 games (all starts) for the Wizards this season and he is averaging 40.2 minutes, 21.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.4 steals per game. The Wizards will miss Butler big-time as they are struggling to hold onto the playoff spot that they are sitting in right now.

The Wizards shot 50% from the floor last night and it helped them win the game. Antwan Jamison led the way for the Wizards with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Nick Young was outstanding off the bench as he finished with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals in 27 minutes. Brendan Haywood pitched in with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Andray Blatche was solid with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals in only 23 minutes. The Wizards are now 31-32 on the season.

The Wizards fell just a tad short at home last Saturday Night. Antwan Jamison led the way for the Wizards with 30 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocked shots. Roger Mason was only 4 of 11 shooting from the floor but he finished with 15 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Antonio Daniels pitched in with 14 points in 29 minutes. The Wizards are now 30-32 on the season.

The Wizards shots 50% from the floor last night and they outrebounded the Raptors 49-38 in a hard fought road victory. Antwan Jamison led the way for the Wizards with 25 points and 16 rebounds. Roger Mason had a solid game with 18 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in only 24 minutes. Darius Songaila and Nick Young each pitched in with 14 points apiece. The Wizards are now 30-31 on the season.

The Wizards didn’t play any defense last night as the Magic shot 56.1% from the floor and it killed them. Antwan Jamison led the way for the Wizards with 19 points and 6 rebounds last night. DeShawn Stevenson also had a solid game as he finished with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Nick Young and Oleksiy Pecherov pitched in with 15 points apiece off the bench. The Wizards are now 29-31 on the season.

The Wizards saved their best for last as they outscored the Hornets 27-15 in the 4th quarter to seal a nice home win. Antwan Jamison led the way for the Wizards with 28 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. DeShawn Stevenson was only 5 of 14 shooting from the floor but he finished with 16 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists. Andray Blatche was very active in his 22 minutes on the floor as he finished with 11 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocked shots. The Wizards are now 29-30 on the season.

The rookies on the Washington Wizards have potential

The Wizards have given their rookies minutes off the bench this season due to injuries and they look like they will contribute in the future. Nick Young will be a starter at some point in his career and he can really put the ball in the basket. He has played in 55 games (2 starts) this season and he is averaging 14.5 minutes, 6.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. He is a decent shooter from everywhere as he is hitting 41.5% of his shots from the floor, 35.5% of his shots from three-point range and 82.2% from the free throw line. Dominic McGuire hasn’t played that great this season for the Wizards. He has played in 47 games (0 starts) this season for the Wizards and he is averaging 8.6 minutes, 1.0 point, 1.8 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. He also has shot poorly this season as he is only hitting 36.2% of his shots from the floor and 33.3% of his shots from the free throw line. Oleksiy Pecherov has played decent lately for the Wizards. He has played in 20 games (0 starts) this season for the Wizards and he is averaging 9.3 minutes, 3.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. He is not shooting too well however as he is only shooting 37.3% from the floor and 55.6% from the free throw line.

The Wizards outscored the Bulls 63-39 in the 2nd half on Friday Night to surge to victory. Antwan Jamison only shot 5 of 18 from the floor but he still finished with 17 points, 15 rebounds and 2 steals. Roger Mason pitched in with 17 points and 2 steals off the bench. Andray Blatche had another solid game as he finished with 17 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocked shots. The Wizards are now 28-30 on the season.
