The Wizards have signed 30-year old small forward James Singleton for the rest of the 2011-12 season. Singleton has played in 6 games (0 starts) for the Wizards so far this year and he is averaging 24.3 minutes, 9.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. He is also shooting 56.1% from the floor so far this year for the Wizards, which is outstanding. Blogged under Bloglockers, Comings & Goings, Front Page, General by alleyoop on Monday 16 April 2012 at 3:31 pm

The Wizards have signed 27-year old SG/SF Morris Almond. Almond was a first round pick back in 2007 for the Utah Jazz. He hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2008-09 season with the Jazz. He has played in 34 games (1 start) in his first two years in the NBA and he is averaging 8.6 minutes, 3.1 points, 0.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. The Wizards will likely give Almond a chance to prove himself off the bench the rest of this year.

The Washington Wizards lose Roger Mason for the rest of the year

Blogged under Big Wizards News, Bloglockers, Front Page, General, Injuries by alleyoop on Sunday 15 April 2012 at 3:03 pm

The Wizards will be without 31-year old SG/SF Roger Mason for the rest of the year as he needs surgery on a finger. Mason played in 52 games (0 starts) for the Wizards this year and he averaged 13.4 minutes, 5.5 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. He only shot 39.9% from the floor this year. Despite Mason’s decent play of late, I don’t see him coming back to the Wizards for the 2012-13 season.

UPDATE: (4/16/2012) - The Wizards have waived Roger Mason to make room on the active roster for Morris Almond.
