Cartier Martin is playing a little bit better in April for the Washington Wizards

28-year old SG/SF Cartier Martin has been playing a little better in April for the Wizards.  He has played in 5 games (1 start) for the Wizards so far in April and he is averaging 19.5 minutes, 7.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game.  Martin has now played in 39 games (1 start) for the Wizards so far this year and he is averaging 16.7 minutes, 6.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.  He is only shooting 38% from the floor so far this year.  Martin might not get a chance to return to the Wizards in 2013-14, as he didn’t play that well for them this year.

Emeka Okafor has really stepped up in 2013 for the Washington Wizards

30-year old center Emeka Okafor has really stepped up since January 1st.  He has played in 44 games (all starts) so far in 2013 and he is averaging 28.2 minutes, 11.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.  He has now played in 72 games (70 starts) overall in 2012-13 and he is averaging 26.3  minutes, 9.8 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game.  He has 20 double-doubles so far this year.  The Wizards hope that Okafor keeps up the good work.

Nene’s is playing well this year for the Washington Wizards

30-year old power forward Nene has played solid basketball for the Wizards so far this year.  He has played in 54 games (42 starts) for the Wizards so far this year and he is averaging 27.6 minutes, 12.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.  Nene has played in 12 games (all starts) so far in March and he is averaging 29.6 minutes, 14.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 blocked shot per game.  Nene is still a rock solid player for the Wizards.

John Wall has been outstanding so far in March for the Washington Wizards

The Wizards might just be a playoff team in 2013-14, if they just keep the team together.  They built around 22-year point guard John Wall and they have played well since his return to action, going 18-15 (54.5%).  Wall has been especially hot so far in March.  He has played in 10 games (all starts) so far in March and he is averaging 35.3 minutes, 20.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 2.1 steals per game.  He is shooting 52.4% from the floor, 54.5% from three point range and 85.4% from the free throw line so far this month.  Wall has now played in 33 games (26 starts) overall this month for the Wizards and he is averaging 30.9 minutes, 15.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 1.4 steals per game.  The Wizards hope Wall can stay healthy and he is the cornerstone of their franchise.

Trevor Ariza has been stepping up lately for the Washington Wizards

27-year old small forward Trevor Ariza is taking his game to a higher level lately for the Wizards.  Ariza has played in 15 games (1 start) since February 1st for the Wizards and he is averaging 29.7 minutes, 12.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game.  He has now played in 42 games (14 starts) overall this year for the Wizards and he is averaging 25.8 minutes, 9.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game.  Ariza is only shooting 40.7% from the floor and 34.1% from the three point line overall this year, so he still has some things to improve on moving forward.

Bradley Beal is heating up for the Washington Wizards

19-year old shooting guard Bradley Beal is really heating up for the Wizards.  He played in 8 games (5 starts) in February and he averaged 34.8 minutes, 17.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game.  He shot 48.1% from the floor, 42.4% from three point range and 82.8% from the free throw line in February….which was impressive.  Beal has now played in 49 games (44 starts) so far this year and he is averaging 31.7 minutes, 13.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steal per game.  His overall shooting percentages are now on the way up as he is shooting 40.5% from the floor, 36.8% from three point range and 79.5% from the free throw line this year.  The Wizards need Beal to keep up the good work.

30-year old Emeka Okafor and 23-year old Kevin Seraphin are sharing time at center for the Wizards so far this year and the results have been promising.  Okafor has played in 52 games (50 starts) for the Wizards so far this year and he is averaging 25.2 minutes, 9.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.1 blocked shots per game.  Okafor has 12 double-doubles so far this year, which is pretty impressive when you consider how much he’s playing every night.  Seraphin has played in 51 games (7 starts) for the Wizards so far this year and he is averaging 23.1 minutes, 9.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.  Seraphin has four double-doubles so far this year.

Martell Webster has been playing pretty well lately for the Washington Wizards

26-year old small forward Martell Webster has been pretty solid lately for the Wizards.  Since January 1st, Webster has played in 22 games (all starts) in which he is averaging 29.1 minutes, 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.  He has now played in 49 games (35 starts) for the Wizards overall this year and he is averaging 27.7 minutes, 10.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.  Webster is likely going to keep his starting job, so the Wizards hope that he keeps up the good work.

John Wall is bringing the Washington Wizards back to life

The Washington Wizards were a 5-28 team with 22-year old point guard John Wall out due to injury, but they are 8-7 since his return to action.  Wall has played in 15 games (8 starts) for the Wizards so far this year and he is averaging 27.8 minutes, 14.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game.  In his last three games, Wall is averaging 35.7 minutes, 18.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game.  Fans are now seeing what could have been this year as the Wizards built this year’s team around him.

19-year old rookie Bradley Beal and 24-year old Jordan Crawford are giving the Wizards solid production at shooting guard. Beal has played in 38 games (36 starts) for the Wizards so far this yer and he is averaging 31.4 minutes, 13.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steal per game. But, he is only shooting 39% from the floor, 36% from three point range and 78.8% from the free throw line so far this year, and those percentages need to get better in the near future. Crawford has played in 35 games (12 starts) for the Wizards so far this year and he is averaging 28.6 minutes, 14.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. The Wizards hope the Beal and Crawford keep up the good work moving forward.
